Biography

Ayse is a first-year graduate student studying comparative politics. She is interested in corruption’s impact on political attitudes and the support for leaders who undermine democracy. She is also interested in the role of state capacity for redistribution in shaping these dynamics. Ayse holds a High Honors B.A. in Political Science and Sociology from Boğaziçi University in Turkey and an M.A. in Political Science from the City University of New York. She previously worked as a Junior Scholar at the Stone Center on Socio-Economic Inequality and wrote her M.A. thesis on the historical transformation of state policies toward rural power relations in Turkey.
