Biography

Brian Hasse is a first-year graduate student studying international relations. He is a career naval aviator with over 3000 hours in the FA-18 and has deployed six times in support of U.S. national security initiatives.  Additionally, he has served in multiple staff assignments including a tour at the United States Northern Command, where he advised senior leaders on risk management strategies to enhance the resiliency of critical defense infrastructure and networks. Most recently, he served as the Commanding Officer of Strike Fighter Squadron 22 in Lemoore, CA.  In addition to his graduate studies, he is a visiting scholar of international and public affairs at the Watson Institute and a military professor of national security affairs at the United States Naval War College in Newport, RI. His areas of expertise include air warfare, foreign policy analysis, leadership and ethics, and joint operational warfare.  His research interests include political psychology, conflict management, and national security decision-making.
