Biography

Samara Shaz is a first-year Ph.D. student at Brown University studying American nuclear politics. Their previous research has looked at how the public and elites interact and reshape nuclear discourse in the United States. Before coming to Brown, Samara completed her MA at the University of Chicago in International Relations and her BA at Wellesley College in Political Science and Chemistry. Additionally, Samara did research at MIT's Security Studies Program and worked on the Nuclear Security Portfolio at the Andrew Carnegie Foundation.
